Traffic Stop

The small county was notorious for purchasing old or obsolete highway patrol cops due to budget constraints. It was also notorious for not installing the latest firmware on these automated traffic enforcers to ensure that they at least have enough security to thwart hacking attempts. The robots are quite effective in regulating traffic, at least for those that don't any better. For some, however, the highway patrol is quite more useful for other purposes.

Some men (and a few women) have become privy to certain flaws in the machines' software and would often make trivial violations or wrong turns just to get a cop's attention. The antiquated androids, however, are no match for a modern Android phone, and once within range, a special program designed to take down these units would hack into them and give the user manual control.

It's not rare to see such scenes on some more secluded roads where the robots are used for less official purposes. Many of these older patrol robots were modeled after pleasure droids to make them look more pleasing and approachable. Fortunately or not, they happen to also still contain some of that pleasure firmware that can be activated through hacking. The humans enjoy it and the robot overloads from it as well. The county seems to be fine turning a blind eye to these activities since it has reduced the number of traffic violations and accidents, not to mention giving the county top ratings and reviews.
