One Man's Trash

I often take short walks through the nearby forest to clear my head or think deeply about some things, never expecting that it would change my life quite suddenly and drastically. I certainly never expected to come across two hunks of men that would become an important part of my life.

My first reaction was one of fear and panic. After all, when you stumble upon two completely still and completely naked men on the ground, you would probably think they're dead. The way they lovingly wrapped their arms around each other, I presumed it was some sort of suicide pact between lovers. My heart almost sank, considering how hot these two men were, definitely a loss to the world if that were the case.

I cautiously approached to check their pulses before I called 911 but, to my surprise, their bodies were actually warm. Even more surprising, I could feel strong vibrations under their skins. To top it all off, I could hear faint beeping sounds coming from both their chests. Despite my approach and my touch, however, the two men were seemingly frozen on the spot.

Curiosity got the better of me and I leaned in closer to listen to the beep. As if I haven't surprised enough, I could hear their soft but manly voices emanating from their chests as well. Both of them were saying the same thing over and over again in a flat voice.

"Signal lost. Connection not found."

Putting two and two together, I finally realized these men were neither dead nor men. They were robots. I've heard of these before, the hottest trend of late and one of my biggest dreams. Instead of calling 911, I dialed the local IT department, looking for my friend who, to my great luck, happens to dabble in such things. He was there in no time at all and we hauled the two mechanical hunks to his car.

It didn't take long for him to piece together what happened. The two's previous owner, for one reason or another, decided to just dump the bots rather than dispose of them properly at a robot recycling plant. He or she also completely wiped the bots' data, leaving only the basic programming that can't normally be erased. My friend reported the incident but since these bots legally had no owners and would have been scrapped anyway, decided we could take one each and install fresh new programs in them. Suffice it to say, my life has never been more exciting, all thanks to a chance encounter in the forest.
